If you do a quick search online you’ll see that there are more than 16 types of roulette bets. The infographic above is just showing the basic bets that someone can place on roulette.

But there are even more bets for those that are more experienced and are using some roulette systems already. Lets have a look at the complete list:

Outside Bets

These are bets made on the perimeter of the roulette table. These are bets made on groups of numbers or colors, instead on a specific number.

Odd/Even

  • Column 1 – This covers the ball landing on the numbers: 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28, 31, 34
  • Column 2 – This covers the ball landing on numbers: 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23, 26, 29, 32, 35

This bet covers a dozen numbers too. But, in order:

  • 1st 12 – This covers the ball landing on numbers 1-12.
  • 2nd 12 – This covers the ball landing on numbers 13-24.
  • 3rd 12 – This covers the ball landing on numbers 25-36.

Each dozen pays 2:1, or double your bet.

Inside Bets

Straight Up
Split
Street

This is a bet on any number within a row of 3 numbers. For example:

  • 1, 2, 3
  • 4, 5, 6
  • 7, 8, 9 etc
Corner

This bet is similar to the split bet. But instead of two numbers, you’re betting that one of four numbers will come up.

Line

These are similar to streets bets, but instead of covering 1 row of 3 numbers, you cover 2 rows of 3 numbers. For example:

  • 1-6
  • 4-9
  • 7-12 etc
Five-Number Bet

This is a wager on the group of numbers: 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3.

Basket

This is a bet on the numbers 0-1-2-3. It’s also called a “first four” bet.

Snake Bet

This is a unique bet that covers the numbers: 1, 5, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 23, 27, 30, 32, and 34. This bet gets its name from the snake-like pattern you get when you highlight these numbers.

Voisins du Zero

The translation is “neighbors of zero.” This bet covers the numbers closest to the 0 on a single 0 roulette wheel – the 17 numbers that lie between (and include) 22 and 25. This includes: 22, 18, 29, 7, 28, 12, 35, 3, 26, 0, 32, 15, 19, 4, 21, 2, 25.

Jeu Zero

This means “zero game”. You’re playing for the numbers closest to zero which include: 12, 35, 3, 26, 0, 32, 15.

Tiers du Cylindre

This means “thirds of the wheel”. This includes the 12 numbers on the opposite side of the wheel between (and including) 27 and 33. On a single zero wheel this includes the numbers: 27, 13, 36, 11, 30, 8, 23, 10, 5, 24, 16, 33. 6 chips are wagered; 1 chip is placed on each of the following splits: 5/8, 10/11, 13/16, 23/24, 27/30, 33/36.

Orphelins

These are the numbers that make up the two slices of the wheel outside of the Tiers and Voisins bets. It includes 8 numbers: 17, 34, 6 and 1, 20, 14, 31, 9.

Neighbours

This is a more confusing bet. This is a number backed with two numbers on either side of it in a 5-piece bet.

When you are using one of the best roulette systems it is also important to have a good understanding of the different types of bets that you can place. For most roulette systems you wont need these in practise but you can use your knowledge to your advantage in case you want to alter or mix your betting patterns 😉
